5 Favorite Apps.

A decade ago, Apple coined the phrase “There’s an app for that,” with TV ads showcasing the breadth of apps available through their store—at that time there were 500. Today, there are 1.96 million apps on Apple’s App Store and 2.46 million on Android’s store. No matter what you’re trying to accomplish via your mobile device—whether it’s getting a date, getting a ride somewhere, managing your finances, ordering food, learning how to milk a cow, or going hunting for the paranormal—Apple’s adage has never rung more true: no really, for better or for worse, there’s an app for THAT. Here are some of the coolest apps that have proven to be uber-useful in our world of media and marketing.

1.  Canva.

This user-friendly graphic design tool is the holy grail for all our marketing asset needs, both print and online. Canva facilitates creation of any kind of eye—catching graphic art you may need—logos, Instagram stories, presentations, infographics, moodboards, you name it—and lets you post your creation right to social media platforms directly from the app.

2.  Waave.

Wavve was created to give users the power to leverage audio content and create social videos that drive more reach and engagement for a brand. Perfect for promoting podcast episodes, highlighting radio guests, and sharing show clips, Wavve turns audio into shareable animated videos. Since videos generate 1200% more shares than an image or text, this app feels like a no brainer.

3. Buffer.

Buffer is a social media management and analytics tool that sets itself apart from the rest because of its simple, user-friendly interface. Consistent sharing on social media can be a chore, but Buffer lets you access accounts from a single place to automatically schedule content sharing at whatever time and interval you want. You can set customized messages set to stagger or refine content for different audiences.

4. Mention.

This social media and web monitoring tool ensures that you never miss when someone has something to say about your brand online. Mentionallows you to create real-time alerts around your company name, brand, competitors, and online mentions in 42 different languages and lets you respond to questions, counter negative comments, and show customer appreciation. The app is also useful for gathering statistics and retweeting a positive mention or sharing articles on Facebook.

5. Flipboard.

As information junkies who want to stay up on the latest news surrounding our interests, Flipboard is a dream come true. This app was founded to provide a one stop shop for users to get their news – tailored to their specific interests- by aggregating content from social media and news sources to curate a personalized “magazine.” Users can then flip through the articles in a seamless, time-saving manner.
